Interior Decoration Project
This interior decoration project takes place in a landmark Modernista villa right on the waterfront in Sitges. Verónica Mimoun Studio developed the complete decoration scheme, covering every space in the home: from the various interiors to the garden, terraces and outdoor areas.
The intervention seeks to preserve the stately, timeless character of the original architecture, reinterpreting it through a contemporary, bright and serene language. The result is a home that breathes Mediterranean calm, where natural light, the sea and greenery blend organically into every room.
In the main foyer, a rug imported from Marrakech welcomes us, crowned by the imposing Zoom XL pendant. To one side, a piece custom-designed by Verónica Mimoun holds the iconic Atollo table lamp in white glass. A round pouf upholstered in Heston fabric by Güell Lamadrid completes the arrangement.
The living spaces are built around a soft, natural color palette, noble textures and enveloping volumes, creating settings that are both welcoming and sophisticated. The main living room and the sitting areas are conceived as fluid spaces, visually connected with the outdoors through large windows, porches and covered terraces that blur the boundary between interior and landscape.
The common areas are organized into several living rooms. In the first, two sofas upholstered in Boira fabric by Crevin, together with lacquered cylindrical coffee tables in different sizes and a set of shelves designed by Verónica Mimoun, invite you into a second living room defined solely by the furniture. Here, four armchairs upholstered in Ugi fabric by Larsen are arranged around the fireplace, accompanied by a Fly coffee table by &Tradition and two Bolla poufs by Gervasoni. All the rugs on this floor are jute. The decorative lighting is completed by two Sampei lamps by Davide Groppi and a Panthella Floor by Louis Poulsen.
Glass-paneled doors lead to the dining room and a sitting area with a television. The dining room, conceived as a central gathering place, is defined by a careful composition of materials, sculptural lighting and custom furniture, creating an elegant, warm atmosphere in constant dialogue with the changing light of the surroundings.
The custom dining table in marble and oak is paired with chairs upholstered in Aveiro fabric by Casamance. Above the table, Meshmatics pendant lamps by Moooi bring sculptural character to the space. A sideboard custom-designed by Verónica Mimoun is completed by two large mirrors on a wall papered in Mystic Weave by Phillip Jeffries.
This same space is home to the family room, also with a fireplace, around which are two sofas upholstered in Onix fabric by Crevin, decorative pillows and an armchair upholstered in Larsen fabric. At the center, a set of Brise tables by Gervasoni in different sizes and heights. To one side, a Lato table by &Tradition with an Equatore Tavolo table lamp by FontanaArte and a Coordinates floor lamp by Flos. The curtains on this floor were made with fabrics by Yutes and Aldeco.
This floor also houses the study, for which a desk in natural solid oak was designed, accompanied by a desk chair and a bench upholstered in Armura fabric. The lighting is provided by the Gioia table lamp by Occhio. In the kitchen, Speers pendant lamps complete a space conceived in oak and white.
The main staircase leads to the private areas, where the narrative of calm and comfort continues. The bedrooms are designed as bright retreats, with a careful selection of textiles, neutral tones and integrated storage solutions that maximize the feeling of space and serenity.
The first bedroom has two twin beds upholstered in Güell Lamadrid fabrics in blue and terracotta tones. Elements nightstands by Ethnicraft, Tatou table lamps by Flos and Mira reading sconces by Davide Groppi complete the space. This bedroom has a private terrace with sea views, furnished with Aram armchairs and coffee tables by Gan.
The second bedroom has a double bed upholstered in turquoise tones with fabrics by Maria Flora, Rotate nightstands by &Tradition and Flowerpot table lamps by the same brand.
The third bedroom, in navy blue tones, combines Güell Lamadrid fabrics with Rebar nightstands by Hay and Riscio table lamps by Joe Colombo.
The main area is home to the primary suite, which brings together bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. The headboard and bed base were upholstered in fabrics by Larsen and Rada, accompanied by a custom end-of-bed bench upholstered in Debussy fabric by James Malone. The decorative pillows combine fabrics by JAB. The nightstands, designed by Verónica Mimoun, were custom-made in a high-gloss lacquer finish and are paired with Luna table lamps by Occhio. In the dressing room, a custom round pouf upholstered in James Malone fabric adds a touch of comfort. The primary bedroom opens onto a private terrace furnished with Reclips rocking chairs by Houe and Hexagon side tables by Hom in Lecce stone.
On the top floor is the tower, home to the last bedroom, with its own bathroom and access to a private terrace. Peach tones were chosen for this space, bringing freshness and warmth. The headboard and bed base were upholstered in Güell Lamadrid fabrics, accompanied by Bok nightstands by Ethnicraft and Matin table lamps by Hay.
In all the bedrooms, the rugs were custom-made, combining borders and colors chosen specifically for each room. Decorative wallcoverings by Phillip Jeffries were installed, and the curtains were made with fabrics by Aldeco.
The basement houses the children’s room, gym, laundry room and staff bedroom. The children’s room was conceived as a large open area for both resting and playing. Three sets of bunk beds designed by Verónica Mimoun and custom-made, together with Ascoli Swing reading sconces, complete this space.
Outside, the project is completed with the creation of different areas for relaxing and socializing: porches, pool areas, terraces and landscaped areas conceived as a natural extension of the interiors, designed for enjoying the climate, the landscape and outdoor social life.
At the main entrance, a terrace was designed with furniture by Tectona—armchairs, sofas and coffee tables—ideal for enjoying long summer evenings. At the back of the house, under the original porch, the outdoor living and dining rooms were arranged. The dining table was custom-made and paired with Nans pendant lamps by Bover in different sizes and colors. For the sitting area, all the furniture was designed by Verónica Mimoun and upholstered in striped fabric by Velar, together with armchairs upholstered in Haruna fabric by JAB and a TXL floor lamp by Marset.
Altogether, this project reflects the philosophy of Verónica Mimoun Studio: designing spaces that combine timeless elegance, functionality and a deep connection with their surroundings, creating homes to be lived in with calm, beauty and harmony.
